The commitment shown by Converged Communication Solutions to improve the cyber resilience of Scottish businesses has been recognised at the Scottish Cyber Awards 2021.
The IT company’s cyber team was named among the best in Scotland after being shortlisted as one of three finalists in the Outstanding Cyber Team category at the ceremony. Reaching the final shortlist acknowledges the extensive work conducted by Converged and its cybersecurity experts to raise awareness of cyber threats and support organisations and individuals in building strong cyber defences.
In recent years, Converged has strengthened its cybersecurity service by establishing strong partnerships with market leading cybersecurity technology companies. It has also built and launched a suite of bespoke staff awareness training modules and guided 100 organisations through the Cyber Essentials certification and IASME governance accreditation processes.
Over the past 18 months, Converged has also delivered 15 free cyber awareness sessions that were attended by more than 500 people. These non-technical workshops were held in partnership with third sector organisations, business groups and educational institutions, and engaged with often overlooked audiences. Each session aimed to give individuals and teams the confidence to take control of their cyber journey.
Hosted by the Scottish Business Resilience Centre, the Scottish Cyber Awards 2021 recognised and celebrated the individuals and organisations making a positive impact in Scotland’s cybersecurity sector. Held on Thursday, 18 November at The Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh, the event saw awards being handed out across 12 categories.
Neil Christie, managing director, Converged Communication Solutions, said: “To be shortlisted in the Outstanding Cyber Team category at the Scottish Cyber Awards 2021 is a fantastic achievement for our talented team of cyber experts and everyone in the wider company. Our cyber team, which is among the best in Scotland, has achieved a huge amount over the past couple of years, helping clients strengthen their networks to repel cyber attacks and educating people about the cybersecurity.
“In the years ahead, cybersecurity is going to remain an important issue within all our lives, both at work and at home. The investments we’ve made and the initiatives we’ve introduced demonstrate our commitment to supporting people to stay safe while online and it is great that this has been acknowledged with this award nomination.”
