Head of ScotlandIS Cyber, Ciara, keeps us up to date with the latest goings-on in Scotland’s cyber scene, including the launch of our new Cyber Showcase pitching programme.
The heat is on!
What a summer we are having, I hope you have all had a chance to get out and enjoy the sun and take some much-needed down time to recharge.
Despite the summer period there has been plenty happening in the wider tech community as well as the cyber sector. Scottish Government announced that Codebase has been awarded a £45 million Tech scaler deal which will see the establishment of 5 Tech scaler hubs throughout Scotland. This is expected to be a gamechanger for the tech innovation ecosystem and there should be lots of opportunities to benefit for many of the cyber tech companies too.
Within the cyber cluster we have been working hard to launch our Cyber Showcase Programme and I’m delighted to say that applications are now open! They are open until August 12th so do please get your applications in. 12 cyber companies will be selected to participate in a pitching programme which culminates in an investor showcase day on November 24th. The same day as the Scottish Cyber Awards so it will be a day to celebrate all things cyber in Scotland!
We have lots of details below and on our website around the Cyber Showcase Programme but if you have any queries do please get in touch. The aim of it is to promote the cyber innovation happening in Scotland by giving you an opportunity to pitch to investors from Scotland and around the UK. We are working with our partners, such as Plexal, to ensure this gets UK promotion and a chance to get your brand and company on the UK Cyber map.
We are also looking for sponsors for this event so if you would like to get involved and be one of our corporate partners do get in touch!
There is also plenty happening for the rest of the cyber community too with a number of big names coming to Edinburgh in September – CIISEC Live is running on September 7th and SASIG Edinburgh on 27th September, and of course our own ScotSoft on September 29th.
