What is the Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge?
The Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge is the world’s only global cyber competition designed to tackle the cyber skills shortage through iterated crisis simulation and policy analysis. Part interactive learning experience and part competitive scenario exercise, Cyber 9/12 challenges student teams from across academic disciplines to respond to a realistic and evolving cyber scenario.
Teams of four analyse threats and develop responses to manage the crisis, with built-in feedback loops from expert judges.
The Scotland Challenge
The Scottish Cyber 9/12 competition takes place at Dundee’s new cyberQuarter at Abertay University, in partnership with Dewar Cyber Consulting Ltd (DCC Ltd), the Scottish Government and Abertay University. This is an amazing opportunity for enrolled students from Scottish colleges and universities to test their policy and presentation skills while gaining valuable industry experience.
What’s at stake?
Cyber security benefits from a richer set of voices and perspectives, in the analysis, at the keyboard, and in the boardroom. Since its establishment, the Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge has trained and placed students from a range of academic disciplines and 30+ countries into the cyber talent pipeline, filling crucial positions in cyber security, public policy, and national security.
Supporting the Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge in Scotland is a fantastic opportunity to directly access a diverse pool of talent from universities and colleges across the country and contribute to the nation’s burgeoning cyber security industry.
