At this month’s North Sea Innovative Solutions Showcase, organised by ScotlandIS, over 70 senior decision makers from the oil & gas and IT industry explored a range of cloud based , collaboration and process improvement tools delivering time, cost and efficiency benefits, and simplifying the plethora of excel based records. Brimming with good ideas, the event piqued lots of interesting follow up discussions, with the networking going on well after the official closing time. Many thanks go to our sponsors, Dell Corporation, Inoapps and City Fibre., for their invaluable support.
Bob Keiller, Chairman of Scottish Enterprise and former CEO of the Wood Group introduced the Q&A session by reviewing the presentations. These included solutions for asset and people tracking, competence and logistics, spreadsheets, SAP and Oracle ERP, Maximo, Primavera integration, Hyperion Cloud, machine data collation and reporting, mobile, hydrocarbon accounting and loss management, inspection, maintenance and action tracking.. The companies presenting were Codify, Collabro Legare, ECS, EnergySys, Inoapps, Motion Software, Onboard Tracker, Pisys, TBS Enterprise Mobility and TRACS Assets Ltd.
The session highlighted the need both for technology suppliers to provide CIO’s with clear, simple business benefits they can use to support business cases for investment in IT and for CIO’s to communicate their requirements and issues to the suppliers.
With a number of business development calls already in the presenters diaries ScotlandIS is engaged in bringing the suppliers and oil majors together to plan further events – more details to follow
