Award-winning technology firm Inoapps has completed the first-ever implementation of a Scottish public sector body’s payroll system to the Oracle Cloud. The successful project was delivered for the Scottish Legal Aid Board (SLAB), an executive non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government.
SLAB’s payroll function, which covers over 500 employees, had previously been shared with another public sector body. The new cloud-based system gives the organisation a standalone superior interface with easier access.
The payroll project follows Inoapps’ successful migration of SLAB’s finance and procurement processes to the cloud, completed last year. The migration projects are aligned to the Scottish Government’s Cloud First approach for systems that aims to benefit operations of agencies by supporting high availability, scalability and a cost effective operating model.
Commenting on the project, Phil Burgess, Managing Director at Inoapps, said: “We are pleased to support SLAB in becoming the first Scottish public sector body to successfully migrate its payroll to the Oracle Cloud, a process which we expect will deliver cost and efficiency benefits.
John McLeod, Head of Information Systems and Projects Office at SLAB said: “The new Cloud First policy meant we needed to find an Oracle-certified implementation partner and Inoapps stood out as having the best fit for our organisation.
“We’ve been very impressed, especially with Inoapps’ change management processes and its project management methodology. More importantly our colleagues, who are the end users of the new cloud-based system have been well-supported through training sessions which have given them a high degree of confidence going forward.”
