AI Trade Mission to Singapore

The Department for Business & Trade are organising a trade mission to Singapore this October 2024.

The mission will introduce leading UK AI companies to the Singaporean technology ecosystem and identify potential commercial opportunities, in market.

The UK and Singapore have a close working relationship in the digital economy space, creating ever greater opportunities for UK companies to do business in Singapore. In February 2022 they signed the digital economy framework, and in June 2023 MOUs on Emerging Technologies and Data cooperation were signed.

December 2023 saw the Singapore Government publish their updated National AI Strategy (NAIS) 2.0. The strategy outlines Singapore’s ambition and commitment to: building a trusted and responsible AI ecosystem; driving innovation and growth through AI activities; and empowering people and businesses to understand and engage with AI. The NAIS  is backed by an investment of more than S$1 billion over the next 5 years into AI compute, talent and industry development.

The mission is organised to coincide with the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH). Organised by Enterprise Singapore and MP International and supported by the National Research Foundation Singapore.

SWITCH is Asia’s leading deep tech festival that connects the Global-Asia innovation ecosystem through premier thought leadership, vibrant networking, showcase events, and a start-up pitching competition, SLINGSHOT.
