Climate Literacy eLearning for Procurers launched

The Climate and Procurement Forum was established to provide leadership and direction to best utilise the £12.6 billion public sector spend to help address the Climate Emergency.

Procurement professionals recognise their responsibility to be climate literate and to have an appreciation of how contracting activity can support net-zero aims for their organisation and Scotland as a whole.

The People and Capability work stream of the forum has been central to the collaborative effort to develop and test the Climate Literacy eLearning to help procurers meet this responsibility.

Mr McKee, Minister for Trade, Innovation and Public Finance said:

“The Climate Literacy for Buyers eLearning is a welcome resource that will help public bodies to play their part in meeting Scotland’s ambitious climate change commitments. Along with our wider sustainable procurement support, we are keen to make this product widely available.”

About the Climate Literacy eLearning

  • The training is largely interactive
  • Users can complete the training all at once, or exit and return at a later date to the point from where they left off.
  • For help to register and login to the platform, a user guide and short video are available
