This year’s Cmd R ScotSoft 2020 will bring together a whole host of global speakers covering a huge range of topics, from the leadership variety of business growth or building brand awareness, to the highly technical subjects of artificial intelligence or space tech.
To give you a glimpse into the calibre of speaker sessions planned for the day, here is a roundup of all our keynote speakers for October 1st.
These are the big ones – you won’t want to miss.
First up on the day is Colin Cook, Digital Director at the Scottish Government. Colin will be talking more about the upcoming consultation on a new Digital Strategy for Scotland, already shaped by contributions received during the #DigitalNation challenge run in conjunction with ScotlandIS. You will be able to learn more about the plans laid out in this new strategy, and how you can help shape them.
Also kicking off the event in our developer stream, we have keynote Rik Ferguson, Global VP of Security Research at Trend Micro. Rik is one of the leading experts in information security, with over twenty-five years experience. He is a Special Advisor to Europol, a project leader with the International Cyber Security Prevention Alliance (ICSPA), and Vice Chair of the Centre for Strategic Cyberspace & Security Science. In April 2011 Rik was inducted into the Infosecurity Hall of Fame.
David Alexander, Director of the RICE Space Institute, will lead a session on how Scotland is well-placed to contribute to the growing need for novel, intelligent, flexible and versatile technologies that expand the societal benefits of the space enterprise and expand the development of a space-based economy. He’ll discuss how the exploration and development of space both inspires and is inspired by innovation in fields as diverse as medical imaging, intelligent systems and deep fried Mars bars.
Another one for all our developers out there, Christian Heilmann will join us to talk about how tooling can make us better developers. As Principal Software Development Engineer at Microsoft, Chris has dedicated the last 20 years of his life to make the web work and thrive, and will be showing us a few tips and tricks on how to avoid making obvious mistakes and to play a part in the next generation of tools for developers.
And finally, our closing keynote for the event will be Steve ‘Guggs’ Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President, AI & ISV Engagement Microsoft. Steve works with customers on their adoption of Artificial Intelligence while also helping ISVs partner with Microsoft on developing a new generation of Line of Business SaaS offerings. Over his 20+ years at Microsoft, Steve has held leadership roles in key business areas, and his session will focus on the AI journey, looking at its role as a key contributor to driving greater transformation for businesses in the future.
