Following the success of the Edinburgh-based pilot, CodeClan, Scotland’s national digital skills academy is launching its ground-breaking Data Analysis course in Glasgow.
Taking place at CodeClan’s city-centre Glasgow campus on August 22nd, the launch event is aimed at professionals already working with data, businesses which want to retrain existing staff, employers looking for new staff with valuable data skills and career changers who want to future proof their career with a valuable new set of skills.
Hosted by our CEO, the event will introduce CodeClan, explain our teaching methods, introduce the instructor team and partner programme. Tickets are free, but demand is high, so early booking is recommended.
Created in response to the rapidly growing demand for data skills, CodeClan’s new course enables people from any sector to rapidly learn a comprehensive range of data analysis skills in only 70 working days.
Using the powerful R programming language, the course brings together the three key areas of data science:
- technical skills & coding
- business knowledge
- maths & statistics
Students learn the entire process from capturing requirements and asking the appropriate questions for the business, through to communicating results clearly and effectively to stakeholders. The course incorporates elements of cyber security, ethics, privacy, User Experience (UX) design, visualisation and story-telling.
Developed in conjunction with industry experts including Effini and The Data Lab, the Data Analysis course has been built upon the same practical, hands-on teaching principles as CodeClan’s award-winning Professional Software Development course, which has to date produced over 700 new graduates for Scotland’s digital economy.
