The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) is seeking proposals to develop innovative sensor technologies that enable improved, high-confidence, rapid detection, localisation and identification of hazardous biological agents in the field.
The current call for applications relates to phase 2 of a multi-phase competition. It is however not mandatory to have participated in phase 1 to be eligible to apply. DASA is looking for innovative technologies starting at TRL 3 and it is expected that TRL 4-5 will be achieved by the end of the phase 2 project. £700k is available in total to fund this phase.
Additional funding may become available for future phases to further develop technologies to higher TRL. The ultimate aim of this competition is to advance technologies towards integrations into a field-able system which can be used by trained military specialists and civilian first responders.
A briefing session will take place via teleconference on 21 April 2020.
Deadline 1 June 2020, midday BST.
