Customers of Brightsolid – the Dundee-based managed cloud services provider – will benefit from a new cyber platform that can detect network vulnerabilities.
The company has deployed the industry-leading Tenable vulnerability scanning platform to pick up on potential intrusion threats in client data.
The Managed Vulnerability Scanning (MVS) service will significantly enhance help organisations in Scotland and the north of England identify security weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and issues in their IT systems before a targeted attack or exploitation occurs, the firm said.
Specifically, MVS aims to:
- increase an organisation’s security posture
- give peace of mind
- prevent damaging financial, reputational and legal repercussions.
Brightsolid is a managed service provider for cybersecurity, hybrid cloud, and data centre services with over 25 years of expertise in cloud, infrastructure and security.
The MVS will allow organisations access on a weekly, quarterly, or monthly basis to the industry-leading Tenable software platform. Providing built-in metrics this assesses and ranks vulnerabilities from low to high risk as they relate to the business, workforce and customers; helps verify and highlight through standard dashboards that these risks have been addressed; and prepares reports to key stakeholders on trends and future vulnerabilities.
Using the detailed information provided, Brightsolid’s experienced in-house Security Operations Centre (SOC) team of security analysts and engineers will scan, prioritise and remediate the most critical and urgent exposures based on business and risk context, providing clear guidance and remediation advice.
David Taylor, head of cybersecurity, Brightsolid, said: “Each day due to unidentified weaknesses in their infrastructure, organisations leave themselves vulnerable to a cyberattack with the potential to cause serious financial, reputational, and legal damage.
“Here at Brightsolid, we wanted to create a cost-effective and professional service which will address such vulnerabilities and significant, critical threats.
“Combining leading software with knowledge and expertise will ensure that our MVS achieves this aim for our clients and allows them to concentrate on their core business initiatives and not worry about the robustness of their security.”
Andy Sinclair, chief technology officer, Brightsolid, said: “When it came to selecting a collaborative partner for our MVS, Tenable.io offered the most comprehensive vulnerability scanning within the marketplace with swift, effective and efficient implementation and trustworthy results. The combination of Tenable.io and Brightsolid’s experts in cybersecurity gives customers significantly greater value than leveraging a self-managed vulnerability service.”
“This partnership further demonstrates how Brightsolid’s comprehensive cyber security service offering is evolving to help strengthen the cyber resilience of UK organisations and provide them with an end-to-end managed solution that they can count on.”
