UK Government partnered with Octopus Investments has launched ‘Green Builders of Tomorrow’ designed to identify and empower UK Start-ups that support the UK Government’s objectives to build back better, support green jobs, and accelerate the path to Net-Zero.
The GBOT competition this year is being held in the UAE, aligning with the UAE’s significant role in hosting COP28 later in 2023 and the UAE’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050. As part of the UAE-UK Sovereign Investment Partnership, the UAE has committed to invest £10 billion in UK clean energy, technology, life sciences and infrastructure.
Successful companies will be supported with a range of options including return flights and accommodation to the UAE, plus promotion in a 2-day highly curated investor facing programme of events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi of international Venture Capitalists, Corporate Venture Capital investors, intermediaries, and wider tech ecosystems.
Criteria for businesses to be considered includes:
- A compelling investment proposition for non-UK investors
- UK headquarters and operations
- Seeking to raise between £5-100m in the next three quarters
- Availability to travel between 25-28 April 2023
