The Digital Skills Partnership (DSP) was established with the support of the Scottish Funding Council and Skills Development Scotland, to create a new collaborative partnership between colleges, universities and industry, to ensure that the further and higher education systems are more aligned to changing skills requirements.
The DSP focuses on working with universities and colleges’ Computer Science and Informatics departments to:
a) ensure their teaching staff are up to date with industry practices in software development;
b) help them create new curriculum materials and
c) increase their interaction with industry.
As part of this work the DSP has been running industry led ‘Industry Update’ events for lecturers to highlight current practice they have been implementing. Topics that have been covered in events thus far have included:
- building secure software;
- Agile, DevOps, TDD and Test and
- Data Science, machine learning and AI.
The DSP is seeking new topic areas for its events in 2018/19 and we are keen to know which topics and work practices industry thinks lecturers would benefit from hearing about, so that they are up to date with current developments.
Please could you send suggested topic areas to Lesley Broadwood, Project Development Manager at Lesley.Broadwood@scotlandis.com by 13th June.
