Event Details
SCDI, BT Scotland, ScotlandIS and The Royal Society of Edinburgh are working together to explore opportunities to develop, harness and export tech to address Net Zero priorities in Scotland and internationally. We’re focusing on digital technologies, such as AI, data, Cloud, IoT, Digital Reality and Blockchain, that can be applied to deliver Net Zero emissions. We’ve recently launched a call for views and the discussions at the workshops will inform a new research report, including policy recommendations, which we’ll publish in June. We’ll be hearing from a mix of speakers and from our participants in facilitated breakout sessions.
The objective of the first workshop is to prioritise the opportunities of ‘climate tech for Scotland’ so clear recommendations can be made on areas for action. It will discuss the potential for Scotland’s tech sector to meet current and forecast demand in Scotland, the UK and globally.
Speakers:
- David Mallon, Head of Climate Change Policy & Implementation Unit, Scottish Government
- Dr Franck Fourniol, Senior Policy Adviser (Data and AI), The Royal Society
- Jane Morrison-Ross, Chief Executive, South of Scotland Enterprise
- Dane Ralston, CEO/Founder, iOpt
