Protection of Critical National Infrastructure
The UK Department for Business & Trade are seeking UK industry expressions of interest in a trade mission to The Republic of South Africa spanning the cities of Pretoria and Cape Town, on the week commencing 20 November 2023 (exact dates to be confirmed).
The aim of the mission is to facilitate further engagement between UK industry with key South African stakeholders both in Government and the Private Sector responsible for the protection of Critical National Infrastructure including railway infrastructure and telecommunications.
Potential equipment and capabilities of interest could include, but not limited to:
- Early/real time detection systems
- Communications
- Command & Control
- Covert Operations & Capabilities
- Biometrics, Facial Recognition & Imagery
- Comms Data and Digital Forensics
- CT & Intelligence
- Video Analytics
- Data acquisition and analysis
- Forensic Services
The cost of joining the trade mission will depend on the number of companies that sign up, but the costs are anticipated to be in the region of £1500 per company (we recommend sending two representatives). This would contribute to the cost of meeting venues, meeting refreshments, a mission brochure, some local land transportation, and other administrative costs associated with setting up the mission. In addition, companies would be responsible for their own costs of flights and hotels.
At this stage, the Department for Business & Trade is looking to gather an expression of interest from UK companies wishing to take part.
Please send your Expression of Interest, by no later than Monday 4 September 2023 to Yashil Gopee, Africa Desk Officer: Yashil.Gopee@businessandtrade.gov.uk
