FANDUEL LAUNCHES FIRST UK COLLABORATION HUB IN THE HEART OF SCOTLAND’S CAPITAL

FanDuel, the premier online gaming company in North America, is heralding in a new era as it opens the doors to its debut UK Collaboration Hub to foster cross discipline working and drive project innovation.

Located in Scotland’s thriving tech capital, the new Collaboration Hub in Edinburgh is designed specifically to connect colleagues across the UK as part of FanDuel’s focus on collective working and cooperation.

After recent restrictions to the ways of working, the opening is a UK first for the firm, reinforcing FanDuel’s ongoing commitment to – and investment in – its people. It will bring together highly skilled project teams across the UK tech, engineering, product and UX communities as the sports-tech pioneer seeks to create 250 engineering jobs this year in support of FanDuel’s industry leading mobile sportsbook, casino and racing platforms.

FanDuel is enjoying a period of extraordinary growth. It’s parent company Flutter (LON: FLTR) recently reported earnings driven by FanDuel’s performance. This included $750m is revenue in the second quarter which helped the company become the first online operator to record a profit in the U.S. FanDuel now enjoys a 51% market share requiring new investment in talent to support and grow the business within the UK Collaboration Hub.

Located on Freer Street within the regenerated Fountainbridge, the Collaboration Hub offers a bright and refreshing space designed to boost creativity and engagement from state-of-the-art equipment to meeting areas titled after some of Scotland’s iconic sports stars.

Taking three floors the bespoke fitout is designed with ease and flexibility in mind to welcome its growing staff base and foster easy and inclusive working. Additionally, a gaming area, pool table, consoles, rooftop garden, acoustic and wellbeing pods offer multiple breakout areas and the opportunity for staff to recharge.

Matthew Taylor, FanDuel Vice President of Software Engineering, said: “We believe a collaborative approach is the best way to drive results and truly innovate when it comes to product delivery.”

“The official launch of our new Collaboration Hub today signals an exciting new chapter in the FanDuel story that will proactively bring together the best talent from across the country to innovate and excel in this dedicated creative space.

“The continued boom of the UK and Scottish tech sector is undisputed, and we wanted to create a new world-class environment to match our world-class engineering teams. Investing in our people is key and the Collaboration Hub helps us continue to recruit, develop and support our colleagues as we further grow our UK employee base.”

The FanDuel Collaboration Hub can accommodate up to 550 people and is open to staff across the UK and those visiting from the States.

FanDuel’s presence in Scotland was established in 2009 before Flutter Entertainment took a majority share in the premier online gaming company back in 2020.
