This is an exciting opportunity on behalf of the UK Government to showcase your technology to the upcoming Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) and the inaugural event of the Global Forum on Technology (GFT).
Both events will be held at the OECD Headquarters in Paris 6-8 June.
The OECD is an international organisation whose members include the world’s 38 most advanced economies. Every year it holds a Ministerial Council Meeting where Ministers and decision-makers from around the world meet to discuss global challenges and agree areas for cooperation.
This year the MCM will be hosted by the Foreign Secretary and a team of senior UK Ministers. At this meeting, the UK will also launch the Global Forum on Technology at the OECD. This will be a forum for countries, including developing economies and industry, academia and civil society to discuss the opportunities and risks presented by priority emerging technologies through the lens of cross-cutting themes including the digital divide, human rights and sustainability.
The inaugural GFT event on 6 June will be discussing immersive tech and synthetic biology, as two of the priority tech areas identified by OECD Member Countries.
Department for Business and Trade are looking for a small number of innovative SMEs/initiatives/projects who would be interested in showcasing their technology at the OECD. The events will be attended by ministers and high level science and tech policy representatives from all 38 OECD member countries and a number of non-member countries (predominantly from the Indo Pacific), plus key players in the tech industry, trade unions, academia, civil society and technical communities. There will be a number of panel sessions to dig deep into questions of technology development and governance.
We are prioritising projects which can provide interesting and interactive exhibitions/installations in the OECD conference centre in Paris for the three days of 6-8 June. Exhibitors would be offered booths in which to present their technology, free attendance to the events, plugs, internet and reasonable costs covered. The displays would be in the communal areas of the conference centre so attendees could work remotely and have an opportunity to network with the attendees/attend sessions.
