PDMS Director to Share Leadership Journey as “Empowering…” Programme Gathers Pace

The “Empowering Women to Lead Digital Transformation” Programme brought together its first cohort of aspirational digital leaders from across local and central government, financial services, health and industry last month. The new initiative, delivered by Empowering-You and supported by industry body ScotlandIS, The Scottish Government and the Scottish Digital Academy, has the aim of building a collaborative community of emerging women leaders in digital transformation roles across all industry sectors.

The 3-month Programme is free of charge to participants, with funding provided from industry partners including Deloitte, Head Resourcing, PDMS and Sopra Steria.

A key element of the Programme is a series of live workshops where the cohort can share their experience and knowledge with fellow participants, as well as collaborate to tackle the industry and societal “Challenges” that have been identified for them to address as a key output from the Programme.

These sessions also include presentations from guest industry and government speakers, and the upcoming session on the 6th of May will feature Jayne Hartley, PDMS’s Production Director, who will be sharing perspectives on her own personal leadership journey as a senior technology leader at one of the UK’s leading software engineering specialists.

Commenting on PDMS’s support for the Programme, Ms Hartley said “Women in leadership roles are underrepresented in technology, not only in Scotland, but globally. Increasing diversity is vitally important and we are delighted that we can support this programme to provide an opportunity for Scotland’s women leaders to not only grow professionally, but to also grow their network of professional contacts. To accelerate women in leadership positions in Scotland,  programmes such as this, which help to develop a culture of mentorship, will deliver enormous value”.
