ScotlandIS, the membership and cluster management organisation for Scotland’s digital technologies industry, has started the search for two new senior representatives to join its board.
Currently ScotlandIS has 12 board members, ] but there is an opportunity for two new faces to join the leadership team. The appointment will be for three years and is designed to add additional expertise and experience to the organisation.
The 2019 Digital Scotland summary report valued the Scottish digital technologies economy at almost £5 billion. This is a figure many industry experts say has risen considerably since then, with a recent report estimating the value of Scottish tech startups at £16.6 billion.
As ScotlandIS looks towards ambitious growth targets, both in terms of member numbers and overall impact, the new board members will help craft the strategic direction of the organisation for the short, medium and long term. There will be a clear focus on maximising the positive impact for members, as well as driving policy discussions at the highest level.
In addition to a passion for growing and supporting the Scottish technology sector, candidates must:
- Be a senior leader in their organisation
- Have experience in PR and marketing or represent a scale-up organisation
- Be part of an organisation that is a ScotlandIS member
It has been a busy year so far for ScotlandIS, with results from its annual survey of technology companies, the Digital Tech Awards and numerous industry partnerships. It’s a trend that looks set to continue with plans to increase sector focused activity around Scotland’s managed service providers, cyber security and space sectors specifically. And that’s not accounting for the numerous training, networking and speaker events that are already planned.

We have proactively identified specific areas where we think we are currently missing particular knowledge, and this is what’s driving our current recruitment.
