The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) Japan, based in the British Embassy Tokyo, will host a UK FinTech and Financial Sector Cybersecurity Trade Mission to Japan from 3-7 March 2025, to coincide with Japan’s “Japan Fintech Week” endorsed by Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA).
The Japanese financial services sector is seeking to collaborate and partner with innovative FinTech companies from across the world, helping to shape a modern and resilient financial services and technology ecosystem.
For UK FinTech companies, there are opportunities across B2B products and services and B2C areas such as payments. As financial technology and industry develops, cybersecurity becomes increasingly important. Opportunities exist for innovative cybersecurity countermeasures to tackle increasing concerns around ransomware, phishing attacks and to help serve the cybersecurity needs of third-party eco-system.

- Learn and explore more about Japan’s FinTech and financial cybersecurity market and the scale of opportunity

- Possible presentation opportunities at Nikkei FIN/SUM which is subject to consultation with the event organiser, Nikkei Inc.
- Invitation to attend Nikkei FIN/SUM networking reception on 7 March
- Possible presentation opportunity at Japan Fintech Festival which is subject to consultation with the event organiser, GFTN.

Expressions of Interest are being sought from UK companies with cutting edge technologies, such as AI or quantum (or other critical technologies identified in the UK Science and Technology Framework) and those providing innovative cybersecurity solutions to the financial industry.
