Experienced mentors from industry are being sought in order to support Women Do Cyber upskilling participants.
Scotland Women in Technology (SWiT), Cisco and Glasgow Caledonian University are looking for experienced mentors (men and women) to support their participants on the Women Do Cyber programme from June 2024 to March 2025.
Participants on the programme include women reskilling and seeking to move into cyber from non tech backgrounds, as well as women already working in tech and using the programme to upskill and add a cyber dimension to their skills.
The role of the mentor is primarily to provide one-on-one coaching so that the conditions are right for the participant to thrive on the WDC programme, be confident in everything they do, complete the programme and to seize the opportunity that the programme presents for career development.
Mentoring is a monthly virtual commitment of 30-45mins.
Support will be provided by SWiT and Cisco for mentors via information about the programme, partners, and surrounding support available to participants including signposting to careers information, opportunities to connect to the cyber industry and academic/student support.
We are looking for mentors based in Scotland, with previous experience of supporting mentees to develop their confidence and horizons, and overcome their own challenges.
Interested? Please read the attached brief for more information on the role, experience required and how to register.
Applications have been extended to 31 May 2024.
